Il 30 settembre uno dei guru mondiali delle sneakers, Ronnie Fieg, ha aperto il suo primo store, dedicato totalmente alla sua passione. KITH, questo il suo nome, si trova a Brooklyn, e si aggiunge così alla lista degli store che la grande mela offre. Per la sua apertura, come vi avevamo anticipato, è stata realizzata una limited Asics Gel Lyte. Camping fuori dallo store, gente arrivata addirittura dalla Virginia, musica, e festa d’apertura come nei più classici dei copioni. Di seguito ho aggiunto il recap realizzato da Complex, con interviste ai fans in fila e a Ron.

On September 30, one of the sneakers guru in the world, Ronnie Fieg, has opened its first store dedicated entirely to his passion. KITH, this is its name, is located in Brooklyn, and is thus added to the list of stores that offer the big apple. For its opening, as we had anticipated, was made a limited Asics Gel Lyte. The Vans DQM General Store Opening | Video Recap

Si è inauguarato pochi giorni fa a New York, il nuovo progetto tra il brand Vans e lo sneaker store di Downtown, Dave Quality Meat aka DQM. I due in una collaborazione ad alimentare il fuoco della scena skate newyorkese, hanno inaugurato nella pulsante SOHO ‘The Vans DQM General Store’, spazio con un’offerta abbondante di sneaker Vans, su tutti i livelli, allegata alla vendita di deck e prodotti per lo skate.
Naturalmente festa d’apertura, morbida e fashion in store, hard core per i veri skater di notte con il live dei Suicidal Tendencies.

Vans & DQM joined forces to create The Vans DQM General store in SoHo. To celebrate the opening of the store Suicidal Tendencies performed at the House of Vans, while Ray Barbee and the Mattson 2 played at the store.

Qubic x All Black x adidas (All Heroes)

Il famoso store Neo Zelandese, Qubic ha collaborato con adidas e con una delle più grandi icone sportive, ovvero gli All Blacks, realizzando questa speciale Campus 80s, nel progetto che prende il nome di All Heroes.
Completamente in suede nero e dettagli in bianco, presenta sul tallone la felce d’argento, storico tag della Nuova Zelanda e una soletta rosso fuoco dove troviamo la scritta Qubic store. Saranno realizzati solo 100 paia e saranno in vendita presso lo store da questo venerdi. I primi 15 riceveranno la sneaker con un box speciale che vedete nelle immagini, mentre le altre 85 paia saranno vendute sia in store che on-line, nella classica confezione. A completare questo pack anche una serie di card realizzate dall’artista Elliot F. Stewart, che ha riprodotto alcuni giocatori degli All Black (Sonny Bill Williams, Dan Carter, Jonah Lomu, Liam Messam) in chiave comic.

Qubic, New Zealand’s sneaker and fashion boutique have collaborated with Adidas and with one of the world’s most iconic sporting franchises, New Zealand’s all conquering All Blacks on this special All Heroes project. A limited run of 100 all black Campus 80s bearing the famous NZ silver fern on the heel and a crimson Qubic insole. Taking things to the next level, 15 super-limited pairs encased in a steel carry box will be available first come, first serve at Qubic on Friday 23rd of September, with the remaining 85 pairs dropping instore and online that same day. Each pair of All Heroes Campus 80s also comes with a pack of limited edition collector cards by NZ comic artist Elliot F. Stewart which depicts All Black players Sonny Bill Williams, Dan Carter, Jonah Lomu and Liam Messam.

Dopo rumori su rumori, mesi di dibattiti su forum, la notizia dell’apertura dello store di Supreme a Londra si fa vera sempre di più. Se è stato tuono nella quotidianità, la news su Hypebeast della possibile apertura, le immagini preview dello spazio rubate di soppiatto, saranno un tornado per i fans del brand americano.
L’apertura dell’insegna in una città europea, dopo anni di reclusione del prodotto al mercato americano e giapponese, con briciole qua e la per noi cittadini della terra di mezzo, rappresenta un cambiamento epocale per Supreme. Londra diventa ancor di più la terra santa per noi europei. Facile da immaginare un aumento sostanziale di pellegrini.

Supra Paris Store Opening

Un nuovo indirizzo da mettere in agenda. 45 Rue de Temple, Marais, da trovare sulla mappa o da chiedere al taxista. Quando vedete l’insegna Supra significa che siete arrivati. Dopo New York, il brand di sneakers dall’animo skater, sbarca a Parigi con un store monomarca.
Un offerta quindi maggiore al pubblico europeo, con dei prodotti in limited edition creati appositamente per l’insegna francese, come le recenti Skytop Paris .

BAPE Store New York Closing or Not?

Qualche importante streetwear magazine online aveva riportato la notizia della chiusura del Bape store di New York per la fine di questo mese, notizia per la verità sparita dal sito poche ore dopo. Noi non ci abbiamo voluto credere e siamo andati subito a cercare indiscrezioni, conferme o smentite. Tutti abbiamo letto dei problemi finanziari che ha avuto la società che hanno portato all’acquisizione del brand da parte della I.T. company e certamente Bape ha perso un po’ di appeal col passare degli anni ma la chiusura dello store di NY non è stata assolutamente annunciata e soprattutto non per la fine di Luglio. L’unico indizio che abbiamo trovato è un’inserzione per la vendita dello stabile che ospita Bape dal 2005, in vendita dal 1 Gennaio 2012 che potrebbe anche indicare un cambio di sede per il prossimo anno senza per questo lasciare NY.

Some major online streetwear magazine had reported the news of the closure of the Bape store in New York by the end of this month, news for the truth disappeared from the site within hours. We went immediately to look for rumors, confirmations or denials. We’ve all have seen the financial problems and the acquisition of the brand by the I.T. company and certainly Bape has lost a bit of appeal over the years but the closure of the store in NY has not been announced, and above all not quite the end of July. The only clue we found was an advertisement for the sale of the building that houses Bape form 2005, by January 1, 2012 which could also indicate a change of location for next year without leaving NY.

Zoo York Spring/Summer 2012 at Pop Up Store Barcelona

Prendi un pomeriggio “muy caliente” nell’assolata Barcelona, mettici il “fuego” dei giovani skater spagnoli e aggiungi un mare di “cervecitas”, mentre il sound system fa il suo dovere. Se poi il tutto ha sopra l’effige ZY, capirai immediatamente perchè questa sia una storia che vale la pena raccontare.
Per presentare in anteprima assoluta ad addetti ai lavori ed insiders la sua collezione Spring/Summer 2012, Zoo York ha aperto un pop up store in Calle de la Paloma, nel cuore del quartiere universitario di Barcellona, proprio dietro il MACBA, storico spot per gli skaters di tutto il mondo. 27, 28 e 29 Giugno.
Tre giorni di party, musica e showcase. Nato nel 1993 nel cuore del Lower East Side di Manhattan, NY, gli stessi luoghi dai quali buona parte della storia dell’urban culture è partita per poi spargersi nel mondo intero, Zoo York è uno degli staple dello streetwear mondiale. Forte di una visione assolutamente cross cultural, ZY riflette il contesto da cui prende le mosse.
Abbiamo ovviamente dato uno sguardo ad alcuni tra i pezzi più forti della prossima collezione. Il classico “Core”, dove è il logo a farla da protagonista si confronta con i toni smart ed edgy di ‘A Tribe Called Zoo’. La ‘Zoo York Institute’, una speciale capsule collection che mixa graphic art e fotografia, è invece dedicata ai luoghi cardine della città e alla loro storia. Questa trova il suo contraltare nell’ispirazione workwear di ‘Proletariat’, esaltando la contemporaneità del marchio, sia nell’immagine che nei materiali. Completano il tutto una stilosa collabo con Starter per un set di tre snapback caps, e una serie di Artistic Tees e tavole davvero interessanti, con delle illustrazioni e delle foto in puro old style di prossimo release. Fool’s Gold Flagship Store Opening | Video Recap

Moda, musica, lifestyle viaggiano su un unico filo conduttore. In una visione più globale di questo sistema, con qualcuno che vi punzecchia da dietro e vi dice “guarda” forse vi si paleserà davanti. L’esempio del giorno è quello di Fool’s Gold l’etichetta discografica di A-Trak, dj e producer, conosciuto ai più con il singolo ‘Barbra Streisand’ sotto il nome di Duck Sauce ( in collaborazione con Arman Van Helden). La sua etichetta, i cui suoni e atmosfere non dispreziamo, è quella che ha lanciato il nostro amico Congorock.
Lo scorso venerdì al 536 Metropolitan di Brooklyn, il nome Fool’s Gold è apparso sull’insegna di un negozio, il primo flagship store dell’etichetta, che si lancia in un rapporto diretto con i suoi fans. ellesse heritage ha annunciato il lancio del suo primo pop-up shop inglese al civico 77 di Redchurch Street, Londra. Aperto dal 23 giugno al 3 agosto, oltre a collezioni vecchie e nuove, lo spazio ospiterà anche diversi articoli d’archivio decisamente esclusivi.
Ogni settimana potrete avere la possibilità di vedere un pezzo diverso di storia dello sport targato ellesse. Ma non è tutto: oltre al prodotto ellesse potrete acquistare anche altri pezzi di brand del calibro di Tokyo Bikes, Wah Nails, Copson Street, zone 7 Style e molti altri.

ellesse heritage is about to launch is first ever UK pop-up shop at 77 Redchurch Street, London, open from June 23 to the 3rd of August. The store will be hosting both new and old collections together with some heritage archive item that will be added each week
showing various aspects of the ellesse sporting history throughout the store. As well as stocking ellesse, the shop will have concessions from the likes of Tokyo Bikes, Wah Nails, Copson Street, Zone 7 Style and many others. Now holidays are approaching, which better excuse to pay a visit to the City?
